Life Resource Planning
Optimizing elderly client resources for the client's remaining years of life
THE SERVICES
Life resource planning involves a team approach to solving problems and making life better for seniors across the country. Anywhere from 10 to 15 different specialists, who serve the elder community, work together under the umbrella of a local care planning council under the direction of the National Care Planning Council -- a service we frequently use to help seniors optimize their resources for their remaining years of life. Participating council members typically charge for their services. In all cases, these services generate more good by helping seniors improve their lives. This is accomplished by identifying community resources, reducing stress, encouraging healthful living, arranging caregiver support and optimizing financial resources.
PLANNING FOCUS
- Estate Preservation
- Funding Sources
- Tax Reduction
- Eldercare Support
A Life Resource Consultant (or Council Director) initiates first contact on behalf of a local council with a senior citizen needing advice. The senior and consultant complete a life resource plan together. As a final step, services of a local care planning council are implemented where needed.
The SVSA supports the concept of life resource planning and, where appropriate, will refer senior veterans to a local care planning council.
